Horatio Harold “Ray” Holtz

Company: Holtz Industries, Inc

Years of Service: 40

Comments: It is with great sadness that we honor the passing of Horatio Harold “Ray” Holtz, a dedicated pioneer and leader in the waste and recycling industry.

Ray Holtz, co-founder of Holtz Industries in Newark, Ohio, left this world on March 5, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on May 22, 1940, in Mary Ann Township, Licking County, Ohio, to the late Harold and Doris (Lane) Holtz, Ray grew up instilling lifelong values of hard work, family, community, and respect for the natural world in a close-knit rural setting.

The waste and recycling community has lost a true pillar. Ray Holtz's contributions will continue to support the essential work of keeping our world cleaner for generations to come. Thank you, Ray, for your service to our industry and all those you touched. Rest in peace.

We will not forget you, Horatio Harold “Ray” Holtz.

Together, let’s honor the memory of the men and women who have served by our side. Whether on the garbage trucks, delivering portable sanitation units, or working in the offices and repair shops, the employees of our industry serve important roles and are very special people. As we remember this fallen hero of the waste industry, we join with their family and co-workers to honor their service.
