Be Safe Tuesday: Staying Alert At Work

Long work days during the busy winter season can lead to injuries and accidents in the Waste Industry.  Use these tips:


  • Aim for getting 8 hours of sleep.
  • Eat well – frequent healthy snacks during the day help against after lunch drowsiness.
  • Drink plenty of fluids.  Cold air is dry and you can become dehydrated.
  • Use caffeine in moderation.
  • Get some excercise; even 10-20 minutes per day will help.
  • Stretch at work.
