Brevard County to join ‘Waste and Recycling Workers Week’ Celebration

Arwood invites Brevard County residents to join the nation “to celebrate trash collectors, dumpster haulers, landfill workers, transfer stations workers, recycling sorters, and just about anyone else who does the dirty jobs that no one else wants to do.”

Residents are asked to show their appreciation by just saying “thanks,” praising the worker or just thinking about how garbage gets collected and what happens to it when its set out at the curb.

“The solid waste collectors, landfill workers, transfer trailer drivers and heavy equipment operators at the landfill facilities provide a valuable service to the community,” Euripides Rodriguez, director of Solid Waste Management for Brevard County, said.

The county solid waste employees and landfill workers will get cards thanking them for keeping Brevard’s cities and the county clean and green.

For more information, contact Arena in the Solid Waste Management Department at (321) 633-2042.
