LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Rumpke truck driver is a hero after saving two tiny lives Wednesday morning.

Gregory Curry was on his normal route when he found a box of four puppies behind a dumpster. He said the box was pushed up against it, so the dogs couldn’t get out.

Two of the puppies had frozen to death. Curry put the other two in his truck to warm them up before taking them to the Humane Society.

One of the pups was later named Gregory after the man who saved the dogs’ lives.

“There was nothing, there was no way for them to get out , no water, no blankets, no nothing in there with them. No food, I mean they were just left there to freeze to death,” Curry said. “I mean I’m glad I could help them out, save a couple of lives today.”

Louisville Metro Animal Services is investigating.

The Humane Society says the two puppies will be ready to adopt in about a week.
