Details of the Recognition
Two drivers for Republic Services waste disposal rode to the rescue of a woman under assault at a Chino Hills shopping center, an action for which they were recently applauded by the Chino Hills city council.
Luis Morales and Josue Fajardo were working at approximately 7:15 a.m. June 3 when they saw a man striking a woman in front of Lowe’s in The Commons shopping center at the southeast corner of Chino Hills Parkway and Ramona Avenue, according to Republic Services spokeswoman Brenda McGuire. The woman cried for help and the two drivers interposed themselves between her and her attacker.
The man fled but was apprehended by Chino Hills Police Department based on the description provided by Mr. Morales and Mr. Fajardo.
According to Ms. McGuire, Republic Services has a crime prevention and safety enforcement program called We’re Looking Out for You.
