First Piedmont is a family-oriented regional business that is committed to its customers and to its employees. We believe in the value of each of our employees and of the communities we serve. We give back to both in appreciate for their service and their business.
COMMUNITY COMMITMENT
At First Piedmont we take our involvement in the communities we service and live in very seriously. We recognize the importance of our local businesses and the people who live in our communities. Without these great people and businesses, we realize that First Piedmont would not be the company we are today. Therefore, we are committed to reinvesting in the communities that have made us successful.
As a company we support many local non-profit organizations through volunteerism and donations including local Boys and Girls Clubs, Relay for Life and the United way to name a few.
Boys & Girls Club
In every community, many boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. First Piedmont Corporation supports our Local Boys & Girls Clubs because they offer these children the care and supervision they seek and much more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. They focus on building character and leadership skills, providing education and career tools, as well as everyday health and life skills. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day.
United Way
The United Way mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. It is their goal to improve education and cut the number of high school dropouts each year in half; help people achieve financial stability and get working families on the road to economic independence; promote healthy lives and good behavior. That’s what the United Way calls advancing the common good. It is less about helping one person and more about changing systems to help all of us. First Piedmont sees the United Way as a great investment, because our money stays local. Everyone in our community wins when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy.
Relay for Life
Today, more than 13 million people alive in the United States have had some type of cancer. Some of these people are cancer-free; others still have it. Years ago, most people who had cancer did not live very long. That is not the case anymore. Every year more and more people survive cancer. For 28 years, Relay For Life has provided inspiration and hope for millions of cancer survivors and caregivers, raising $4.5 billion in fundraising to save lives from cancer. First Piedmont is proud to support Relay For Life events in the communities we serve, with a hope that one day a cure will be found to end cancer.
