In Loving Memory of Henry Gutierrez Jr. of Gutierrez Disposal

Michael Wetzel
As you all have heard about the shootings in San Bernardino, I just wanted you to know that one of those killed was Michael Wetzel. Michael was a supervisor of Environmental Health Services at San Bernardino County and a SWANA member. I had the good fortune to work with my Michael setting up a MOLO Training@Work program last June for some of our members at SBC. He was a very nice guy. He leaves a wife and six kids and was only 37 years ago. I guess you never know where tragedy will strike and who you may know. Please say a prayer for him and his family.

Henry Gutierrez Jr.

Company: Gutierrez Disposal

Years of Service: 35

Comments: “Henry is real big in our city. They even named a park after him,” Correu said. “He goes around to the police and fire departments every year and drops off tamales.”

We will not forget you, Henry Gutierrez Jr..

Together, let’s honor the memory of the men and women who have served by our side. Whether on the garbage trucks, delivering portable sanitation units, or working in the offices and repair shops, the employees of our industry serve important roles and are very special people. As we remember this fallen hero of the waste industry, we join with their family and co-workers to honor their service.
