William K. ‘Mike’ Flood
Company: Flood Brothers
Years of Service: 50+
Comments: With tremendous sadness, we announce the passing of our leader, company patriarch, and the last of the original Flood Brothers, William K. ‘Mike’ Flood.
Mike, the last of the 3rd generation of Floods active in the business, passed peacefully over the weekend surrounded by his family to assume his foreseen place in the hereafter with his beloved wife, Carole.
Mike leaves behind an unmatched legacy as a waste industry pioneer and leader. More importantly, Mike leaves a life lived to its fullest as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mike was a devout Catholic and had unending faith in God. He faithfully attended the liturgy and found solace in the rosary.
Generations 4, 5, and future generations of the Flood family will continue to be strengthened by the lessons of Mike’s leadership, his faith, his beautiful stories, and his endlessly positive attitude.
We will not forget you, William K. ‘Mike’ Flood.
Together, let’s honor the memory of the men and women who have served by our side. Whether on the garbage trucks, delivering portable sanitation units, or working in the offices and repair shops, the employees of our industry serve important roles and are very special people. As we remember this fallen hero of the waste industry, we join with their family and co-workers to honor their service.
