Rumpke Is Celebrating The Men And Women Who Keep Our Neighborhoods Clean And Green On June 17, Waste and Recycling Workers Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—June 12, 2013—It’s dirty. It’s difficult. It can even be dangerous. Driving a 25-ton truck and collecting waste and recycling is not a job for everyone.

Rumpke is celebrating the men and women who keep our neighborhoods clean and green on June 17, Waste and Recycling Workers Week. The proposed new holiday, conceived by a Florida-based company Arwood Waste and CEO John D. Arwood, encourages raised awareness for sanitation industry workers.

“We are proud of the men and women who are on the streets performing our services,” said Regional Vice President Mike Nelson. “Driving for Rumpke is an honorable job that requires a great deal of training, responsibility and hard work. We have many talented and dedicated employees who contribute to our success.”

Rumpke drivers in Louisville will enjoy a cookout Monday and some will be recognized for outstanding service. Customers can celebrate by using this printable card, which can be left for drivers on collection day or mailed to 1101 W. Oak Street, Louisville, Ky. 40210.
