Pride Disposal Company is a family owned business that has served the Sherwood, Tigard, and Washington County areas since 1986. We offer a full line of solid waste and recycling services for residential, commercial, multi-family and industrial customers.
Our family has been in the solid waste business since 1917 when Phillip Leichner (pictured) operated a route in Portland, Oregon. In 1937 Phillip purchased Clark County Disposal and the family moved to Vancouver, Washington.
Phillip’s four sons, Elmer, John, Robert and Lorry operated the business after his death. Lorry retired from Clark County Disposal in 1984. In 1986 Lorry’s son, Mike Leichner, purchased Frank’s Disposal in Tigard and incorporated it as Pride Disposal Company. We’ve been in our current Sherwood location since 1987. The fourth generation of the Leichner family is active in the family business, continuing the tradition.
